The first thing I want to say is that this is quite unofficial. I don't know Kevin McGlinchy. I'm not affiliated with the Braves. I just decided to do this site because it was spring break and I was bored. And I have lots of Durham Bulls pictures. So here it is.

I've been going to Bulls games since before I can remember. They were affiliated with the Braves, so I liked the Braves. Naturally, I was disappointed when Durham landed a Triple-A franchise. Hence, I decided to go to many games in 1997, the last season that the Bulls were a Braves' affiliate.

I went to one of the early-season games and saw McGlinchy for the first time. I thought he was perhaps the sexiest thing alive (plus, as an added benefit, he was good). So I went to the next game that he was supposed to pitch. Instead, his elbow was sore, somebody else started the game, and he came out of the dugout eating a Reese's peanut butter cup. I was hooked. And then there was the Durham Bulls fashion show. ;)

I've never actually met him (I'm shy) but I did run into a trash can once while staring at him. I was walking at the time; it's not as bad as it sounds. No one noticed, not even my friend Katherine and she was walking beside me.

I also saw him at the mall once, trying on sunglasses. I was with my best friend Kristen, who hates baseball (but loves to shop), and when I pointed him out, she said something like, "Great. Let's go to the Limited." Oh well.

Then, the next year, he played in Danville, which, I discovered, was only 90 minutes from my house. Heh heh. Then he started six games at Greenville and it was off to winter ball. I found that my high school Spanish classes came in handy because I could actually read the articles from the Venezuelan paper.

And the rest is history. He went to Camp Leo, then Spring Training, then made the team. And then I discovered just how under-appreciated middle relievers are. So, here's my own little display of appreciation. Enjoy. :)
