04.26.00: More good news. From the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer:
"Feeling better: There was also good news on Kevin McGlinchy's stiff right shoulder. He also threw in the bullpen and reported no pain. He is hopeful of making one or two appearances with Class AA Greenville later this week and joining the team in Los Angeles next week.
'It's the best it's felt in a long time,' he said. 'I feel like I can throw right now in a game and get guys out.'
McGlinchy said he threw all his pitches and experienced no discomfort.
'I was letting it go pretty good with full range of motion,' he said."
04.25.00: Tom Glavine pitched a complete-game 3-hit shutout! (For those of you who don't know, this is newsworthy because Tom Glavine is my absolute favorite player ever.) And Pete Van Wieren wins the Stupid Question of the Month Award for his "Do you want to get into the Hall of Fame?" in the post-game interview. Uh, no, Pete, what I really want is to be remembered for my mediocrity. Maybe set some records for total losses. Hello? But I like Pete. He must have just had a brain cramp or something.
04.23.00: Now this is annoying. From the AJC:
"Reliever Kevin McGlinchy will test his sore shoulder with some light throwing before today's game. He has not tested his shoulder since warming up in the bullpen last Sunday in Milwaukee.
'See how it feels,' he said, 'and if it's not hurting, then we'll go from there.'
The Braves had expected that McGlinchy could come off the disabled list next Friday. But after reviewing transaction dates, they found they couldn't place him on the DL retroactive to April 13 because Bruce Chen, the pitcher who took his roster spot, was already on the Atlanta roster at that time. Because the team could not begin his stay on the DL until April 17, McGlinchy cannot be activated until May 2."
04.20.00: Reliever Kevin McGlinchy was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 13, with shoulder tendinitis. The Braves recalled pitcher Bruce Chen from Triple-A. If McGlinchy had not been placed on the DL, I would have had to rant, because that's what I was doing up till that point, seeing as how Bobby Cox was ignoring him out in the bullpen and using Mike Remlinger like a cheap... oh nevermind.
